CDOT Blue Mesa Sand Shed & Vehicle Storage Building

CDOT's Blue Mesa facility consists of a 8000 square foot vehicle storage building and an attached 4000 square foot sand shed. The VSF consists of a pre-engineered metal building (PEMB) with CMU infill walls at the wash bays. The sand shed is a PEMB attached to 10' high cast in place concrete walls.

We have worked on this sand shed multiple times. First we investigated the original quonset hut shed due to deterioration at the base of the curved steel roof. We designed a tie down system to secure the steel roof to the concrete foundation where the steel had deteriorated. Then a few years later we designed the foundation for the new pre-engineered metal building shad shed.
